Reply:Not Sutton!
Reply:Sutton is a boys name. Elle is nice though - I prefer Ellie. :-)
Reply:I am voting for Sutton. It is strong, independant and just subtle enough to make it cute! Elle is so popular that it seems like the "safe" way to go.
Reply:how about Elston / Elstin / Elsten (L's-ton or L-sten)
Reply:Elle is pretty, though perhaps a bit brief. Would you consider using it as a nickname for:

Elisabeth

Eleanor

Elspeth

Ellery

Elise

Elaine

Elodie

Sutton is tricky, because there's no obvious nickname. Emerson, Addison, Avery - a lot of those surname names work *so* well for girls because they're close to familiar, feminine names - Emma, Addie, Ava. Sutton doesn't have that advantage. Sinclar or Sheridan, however, do.

If Sutton has family or personal importance, I'd use it as a middle name. Eleanor Sutton, nicknamed Elle, is a gorgeous name.
Reply:Sutton Sounds more boyish! Elle MArie sounds cute!
Reply:Elle is my name. I like it. :-)
Reply:Shortly after we named our daughter Sutton Elizabeth, another family named their daughter Sutton Ashley.
Reply:What about Ella??
Reply:Although I like Sutton, people are going to assume it's a boy at first glance. I'd definitely pick a girly middle name if you use it.

Elle is good too!
Reply:i like Elle better than Sutton.

u could call her Ellie instead.

u could try:

Elle Marie

Elle Hope

Elle Grace

other girl names r:

Cylie

Preslie

Payton

Paisley

Chloe

Emmy

Emerson

Harlie

Shelby

Sydney

Lorelei
Reply:Sutton is horrible, and Elle is a nickname for Elizabeth.
Reply:Sutton is a much better choice! Elle is too close to Ellie, which makes it an overused name....

Ignore all the people going on how the name Sutton sounds like a "boy" name... there's nothing wrong with it! And to the people mentioning there's no obvious nickname - that's the idea.... What's the point of giving your child a name to just shorten it to another name anyway????
Reply:Well, Elle is great, but Sutton is too cold sounding and too much like a last name. Maybe for a boy, but not for a girl.

Besides Elle, there's many great names like:

Brielle

Brynne

Giselle

Ariane

Analisa

Lilly

Jillian

Laurel

Shannon

Good luck!
Reply:Sutton is English and it's a male name so I wouldn't name my little girl this.

Elle is nice as is Elke, Ellen, Allie.

Charise, Nicole, Janelle and Lauren
Reply:Elle is okay.

Sutton is hideous!
Reply:I'm not fond of Sutton. If you like "E" names, you could consider Elise, Emily, Emma, Erica, Eden. I like the name Joy.
Reply:Sutton sounds like a boy's name. Elle is nice for a girl. Ella is cute, too.
Reply:Elle, sounds like Spanish for the. Sutton rhymes with mutton and the kid will have to live with it all through school. I'm old fashioned and think you should go back to the drawing board and look for something that has less of a cutesy factor.
Reply:Elle, yes. Sutton, no.
