Rate and Say! What Do You Think Of These Baby Girl Names?

These are NOT what we're considering for our little girl. These are names - in a few minutes of pregnancy boredom - I have come up with.

Please can you rate then and say what you like/ don't like about them. Here are the names:

Dahlia Faith

Xanthe Elise

Alyssia Helen

Morgan Mae

Rebecca Fallon

Arianna Louise

Faylinn Rae

Fianna Leigh

Teagan Rose

Natalia Elizabeth

Maria Jade

Olivia Kaitlyn

Any questions just ask,

Earthy

PS: 4 weeks till baby girl is due!

Rate and Say! What Do You Think Of These Baby Girl Names?
Dahlia Faith (9/10) -- I love Dahlia as an uncommon flower name choice, and Faith complements it nicely.

Xanthe Elise (9/10) -- Both names are lovely and not too common.

Alyssia Helen (6/10) -- I don't like Alyssia. It feels like a dressed-up form of the overdone Alyssa. I'd much prefer Elisa or Eliza. Helen is lovely, but it seems too plain to follow such an overdone name.

Morgan Mae (4/10) -- I don't really like Morgan on a girl, I don't like the spelling of Mae, and I usually don't like combinations where both names start with the same sound.

Rebecca Fallon (6/10) -- Rebecca's pretty but a bit boring, and Fallon seems a little trendy, but these names complement each other nicely in sound and in "feel." They balance each other out, so I think this combo works.

Arianna Louise (6/10) -- Arianna's lovely but overdone these days. Louise sounds very dated -- it's a middle name that I really dislike.

Faylinn Rae (1/10) -- My least favorite. Faylinn sounds like a horribly trendy made up name, especially since it ends in the "linn" sound (like Gracelyn, Brooklynn, Winterlynn, and a lot of other modern elaborations we've been seeing recently). I strongly dislike Rae as a girls' middle name. It sounds masculine to me, no matter how you spell it, and I dislike the cutesy "ae" respelling.

Fianna Leigh (7/10) -- Pretty! Fianna is an intriguing choice, though I suppose it's a bit odd to name your daughter after an Irish warrior band. Leigh is sweet, but it sounds a bit filler. Still, with an uncommon name like Fianna, it's probably best to pick a rather traditional middle.

Teagan Rose (5/10) -- It's okay. I'm indifferent to Teagan, and Rose is lovely but somewhat predictable. You have the right idea, though, by pairing a unisex first name with an unmistakably feminine middle.

Natalia Elizabeth (7/10) -- Pretty! I actually teach a student with this exact name, though, so it might not be the most original choice. As a general rule, I only use common middle names (Grace, Elizabeth, Rose, etc.) when I'm using a very uncommon first name.

Maria Jade (7/10) -- I like Maria, but I'm not crazy about Jade. Still, I can see the appeal in pairing one very traditional Spanish name with a modern American middle.

Olivia Kaitlyn (5/10) -- Beautiful, but insanely overused. You hear this name and you immediately know what decade the child was born in. A good rule of thumb is that if you are using one popular name, balance it out with a less common first or middle. Ophelia Katherine, Alethea Kate, or Olivia Maren would be much more intriguing.
Reply:Dahlia Faith--It's pretty...not my favorite

Xanthe Elise--don't like this one...I think it'll cause pronunciation problems ;)

Alyssia Helen--cute!

Morgan Mae--cute!

Rebecca Fallon--never been a fan of Rebecca...don't like Fallon

Arianna Louise--like it

Faylinn Rae--I think she'll just be called a "fag" when she's in school ("fag"linn)

Fianna Leigh--cute!

Teagan Rose--really cute!

Natalia Elizabeth--I think I like Natalie better

Maria Jade--not fond of Jade for a girl, however, I know many girls named Jade...they're all huge tomboys.

Olivia Kaitlyn--I think I like Olivia Kate better
Reply:Dahlia isn't that favorable in my opinion. It reminds me of the dahlia murders movie, it could be suitable as a middle name however. I do really like the name Faith though, only as a middle name.

Xanthe Elise flows well but Xanthe sounds like a prescribed medicine for allergies or something. I like Elise very much.

Alyssa Helen sounds much better as Helen Alyssa to me.

Morgan Mae is alright, I wouldn't consider it though.

Rebecca Fallon. I love the name Fallon but not with Rebecca.

Arianna Louise is ok. I don't like Arianna with this name though.

Faylinn Rae isn't very good. I don't like the name Faylinn.

Fianna Leigh is alright.

Teagan Rose sounds good together, but I don't like the name Teagan.

Natalia Elizabeth is cute. Elizabeth makes a lot of names sound good, but I like Natalia.

Maria Jade is cute, I also like Jade Marie.

Olivia Kaitlyn is cute, but my neices name is Olivia Joy and I prefer a shorter filler name with it.

A lot of these names are cute if you mix and match as well. I like Natalia Jade, Fianna Rose, Arianna Leigh, Helen Mae, Alyssa Fallon, and Kaitlyn Jade. There are a lot of other cute combos too.

Reply:Morgan Mae is cute, so is Teagan Rose. I love Arianna Rose.

Since the baby is due around Christmas, you could have Noelle or Holly or another xmas name as the middle name.

Have you thought about Delilah (Lila) instead of Dahlia? Delilah Noelle would be beautiful. :) Good luck %26amp; congrats!
Reply:LOVE Dahlia Faith and Olivia Kaitlyn
Reply:Dahlia Faith
Reply:Alyssia Helen

Morgan Mae

those are the only ones that sound ok
Reply:I like a lot of the names, just not together...

If you had to choose a name from your list I'd choose Morgan Elizabeth. ((I know, I mixed and matched -l0l-)) But that's my name %26amp;%26amp; I have always loved it %26amp;%26amp; received compliments on how well it flows. In the hospital my mom received comments that it was like Morgan Fairchild and Elizabeth Taylor who were popular when I was born.

So MORGAN ELIZABETH is a fabulous name. -l0l- Weird enough, my friends little sister's name was Morgan Elizabeth too. -l0l-

As far as your boredom:

Dahlia Faith-I don't care for it. Dahlia is kind of hard for me to pronounce. -l0l-

Xanthe Elise-I don't care for X names. But I love Elise!

Alyssia Helen-I have heard of Alyssa, but never Alyssia. Very different, but cute. I like it with Helen too. :)

Morgan Mae-I think it's cute. And I love Mae spelled this way over the month's spelling.

Rebecca Fallon-I almost think I'd like it better Fallon Rebecca.

Arianna Louise-Cute!

Faylinn Rae-Too weird for my taste...

Fianna Leigh-Kinda like the name above. Again, I don't know how to pronounce it.

Teagan Rose-Cute. Different, but I like it. Maybe because it's close to Keagan and I like that name. -l0l-

Natalia Elizabeth-Very pretty!

Maria Jade-I don't like the name Maria... I do like Mariah though... I just am not a fan. Sorry.

Olivia Kaitlyn-I love Olivia, but I don't think it goes well with Kaitlyn. Separate, they're both great names.

4 weeks?! How exciting! What are the names you are considering, or what have you chosen for your baby girl?
