I chose my daughter's name from family- my grandmother. It hasn't been in the top 100 since the 1920s. I'd suggest looking at the top 100 names lists for the last 5 or so years and picking from the bottom 50/75. She has my first name as a middle as per my family tradition. Choosing a middle from a family member is also a good way to go.





Also, simple, elegant girls' names have fallen by the wayside so something like Alice or Jane *is* unusual these days. If we had another girl, we were thinking of Guinevere. I've always liked Noelle, Holly, and Serena. My mom almost named me Arienne/Arianna, which would have been nice, too, though that may be straying too far into "trendy" for you.
